The i360 which will probably be known locally as the Brighton Eye gets the go-ahead, with work expected to start in early 2007. This will be one of the tallest buildings in the UK and twice the height of anything else in Brighton. |

The original BBC News report of the Arson attack which struck the West Pier on March 28th 2003 and entirely destroyed the Concert Hall at the Seaward end of the Pier. The remaining skeleton is to be demolished. |

A recent survey carried out for Sky News found that Brighton was the Healthiest City in Britain. An additional survey last year found Brightonians to have the lowest cholesterol and blood pressure too.... Oh and we live a Year longer so there !

Brighton's own Fatboy Slim (aka Norman Cook) is having a great 2007 - Following a successful New Year's Day concert on Brighton sea-front he is now rumoured to be in collaboration on a Disney Soundtrack - how's that! |
